Day One: Ziplining

Event: Ziplining at Hocking Hills in Rockbridge, Ohio.

That’s me cheesin’ it up in the middle!

Jessica (in the purple) and her husband, Adam, came from Cincinnati to meet us at Hocking Hills.  Jess and I met in college and have been close friends ever since.  It had been almost two years since we had last seen each other, so it was great to catch up.  Jessica’s 30th birthday is July 4th and I was happy to share today’s celebration.

Kelly (on the right) and her husband, Craig, traveled up from Charleston to ride with Jim and me to the course.  Kelly and I have been friends since elementary school and Pee-Wee cheerleading days.  (Go Bullets!)  Kelly is known for her fabulous, thoughtful gifts, and today was no exception.  Not only did she hunt down and frame a favorite print of mine, she also had these fantastically awesome T-shirts made for all six of us to wear:

Seriously, how great are these?!?!  I’m sure mine will have several trips through the wash before July 27th rolls around.

And, as usual, my wonderful boyfriend Jim was there to support me and my plans!  And, unless his big grins were all an act, I’m pretty sure he had as much fun as I did.

Ziplining was the perfect way to kick off the celebrations.  We zipped down ten lines, crossed five skybridges and had a blast in the process.  I can’t thank my friends enough for taking time away from their work and daughters to spend the day with me!  It means so much to me.  I’d be happy to return the favor anytime!
