Thirty Days of Turning Thirty

Event: No Work, Watching Clueless, Painting Nails, Eating Mexican Food, Listening to Toby, and Catching Up with Family & Friends

I cleared my schedule for a day all to myself.  After a quick trip to the bank and Qdoba (with a playlist of my birthday pal, Toby Keith), the festivities began.  While giving myself a manicure and pedicure, I watched Clueless.  It’s one of my favorite movies and I know every line…which is why I watch it by myself.  I’m fully aware of how annoying it would be to have to listen to me speak along with Cher Horowitz from beginning (“I know what you’re thinking, ‘Is this like a Noxema commercial or what?’”) to end (“We’ve got this in the bag.”)

I truly have no idea how many times I’ve seen this movie, but I do know that I ruined one VHS, replaced it, and now have it on DVD.  During high school, every time I painted my nails, I would pop the tape in the VCR.  So I’ve listened to the dialogue many more times than I’ve actually watched the movie.  And while I haven’t seen it in years, I still found it quite enjoyable today.  (Side note: My crush on present-day Paul Rudd is amplified by the fact that he played Josh in Clueless.)

Jim and I went to our favorite Mexican restaurant for dinner.  I love Mexican food.  On the days when I’m not eating pizza, I would be content to eat nothing but Mexican food.  (As demonstrated by today’s birthday meal choices.)  Los Tres Magueyes did not let us down tonight.  Our margaritas and meals were quite tasty.

I had a fantastic birthday.  I absolutely love hearing from family and friends.  Between the flowers from my parents, phone calls, texts, emails, and Facebook posts, I felt much love today.  Of course I enjoyed them all, but my favorite text came from Jessica.  I love it because it’s so her.

Happy happy birthday!!!  Address please?  I’ll give u a call in a minute but currently at the post office. :)

I wrapped up the evening hanging out with my two favorites, Jim and Marshall Dillon.  

MD cracks me up in this photo.  And yes I’m wearing the hand-me-down 30th beads from Becky.  I wore them all day, because I’m the Birthday Girl!!
