Day Twelve: Bulls Game

Event: Durham Bulls Baseball Game

Going to baseball games is always fun.  There’s yummy food, frosty beverages, fun on-field entertainment between innings, and lots of people-watching.

Oh, and some people watch the game, too.

The Bulls won tonight and someone hit a home run!

We had good seats (thanks Joe!) along the first baseline (not to be confused with the 2nd baseline).

Sitting so close makes me nervous.  And for good reason: last year, we saw a kid take a piece of a broken bat to the face.  He turned out to be fine (with a quick shiner) and right away the crowd started chanting “Give him the bat!  Give him the bat!”  Thankfully we did not get hit with any foul balls or broken bats tonight.

As it’s Friday night, there were fireworks after the game.  It’s crazy to me that they pull a trailer onto the outfield and shoot them from there.  It was an impressive display.

Despite the crazy heat, we had a great time tonight.  And now I’m looking forward to Day Thirteen’s concert!
