Day Fourteen: Macaroni & Cheese
Event: Experimenting with a New Mac & Cheese Recipe
As you can probably tell by reading a post or two, I like to eat. To be honest, even I am a bit surprised at how many of the 30dot30 festivities have included food. But I think it’s fitting for a celebration of things that make me happy to include yummy food.
In addition to pizza and Mexican food, I also really like macaroni & cheese. If I find it on a menu, I will usually try it. As I am not a huge fan of hot peppers, I was surprised how much I enjoyed the Jalapeno Mac & Cheese at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville. And one day, I will visit this place. Pasta and cheese: does it get any better than that? Well, maybe if you add bacon.
Fully aware of my love for cheesy pasta, Kelly shared with me this Dressed-Up Bacon Mac and Cheese recipe that she had prepared for her husband. As a low-key follow-up to the Toby concert from last night, I decided to try it myself tonight. I wish I had a food stylist to prep my finished product, but, alas I do not. So here it is anyway:
It was pretty tasty! I think Jim would agree that I could have doubled the bacon and it would have been even better. I have to be honest, though; it wasn’t quite as low-key as I was hoping. It took an hour to prep! The blue box stuff takes 7 minutes! (Yes, I will eat that too, if the mood strikes.)
Thanks for sharing the yummy recipe, Kel!
