Day Nineteen: The Longbranch
Event: People-Watching at The Longbranch in Raleigh
When the Longbranch reopened earlier this year, Jim and I were very excited. It’s one of our favorite places to people-watch. With five “clubs” under one roof, there is plenty to observe!

In my book, you can’t go wrong with live music, a good seat, and a crowd of folks. We’ve seen Trace Adkins, Craig Morgan, Rodney Atkins, Josh Turner, and many others on this stage. Jim and I can’t don’t dance, so we are impressed with the skills of the line dancers. We’ve come to recognize the regulars and have fun assigning them names and back stories.

Tonight’s concerts by Larry Frick on the country side and Craig Woolard on the Top 40 side brought out different crowds, fun outfits, and fascinating interactions. Jim and I were laughing because, if it weren’t for the live music, we could have just as much fun sitting at home with a cold beer and a live feed of the bar on a webcam. Call us nosy, but we can’t be the only ones. Otherwise, reality tv wouldn’t be so popular, right?
Hello?

I wonder what our fellow people-watchers call us? Laughers in the Corner, maybe? Sitting Singers, perhaps? Rhythmless Observers?
Easily Entertained would work.
